About Robbie’s
Mission Statement
Robbie’s Super Stuff Super-Licious intends to provide the highest quality of food. The emphasis is on a Southern base of recipes combined with urban contemporary cuisine. We are dedicated to customer service and satisfaction while taking time and care in providing high quality food. We believe cleanliness is next to Godliness.
The Concept
The idea that we are what we eat is the basis of Robbie’s Super-Stuff Super-Licious. We have the only “three in one grill”. The meats are prepared with as many as thirteen different herbs and spices. Each meat (pork, beef or fowl) is then cooked on an open pit grill that is especially designed for the environment of each product. Only pork is cooked on the pork grill. Only beef is cooked on the beef grill. Only turkey or chicken are prepared on the grill for fowl. The grills are of different sizes. They, and the tools used on them, are cleaned regularly and different ones are used when possible. This prevents and at least diminishes the possibility of any cross contamination. The result is enhanced and improved flavor. The pork taste like pork, the beef tastes like beef, and the fowl like bird. The product is bought regularly and cooked daily.
Our History
Originally founded in Pittsburgh, PA as Super Stuff – Superlicious in 1985 as a small family owned and operated ethnic restaurant. The first location began cooking using three grills on the side walk in the front of an old building that housed a restaurant on the fist floor and apartments on the upper floors. The food became popular almost immediately. The other popular more established restaurants became instantly curious as we were often the busiest place in the Homewood section of Pitsburgh. It was not unusual for customers to drive from 30 – 40 miles or more to get ribs and chicken from Super Stuff Superlicious.
We opened at lunch time or later, and stayed to the wee hours of the morning to catch the bar patrons who would want a late night meal. We also had in the family at that time, an accomplished baker. So the menu often included fresh baked pies, rolls, nut rolls, brownies, bread and cookies.
The business, not yet having the foundation of the Lord Jesus Christ and not blessed by His Spirit, was soon divided. The results were family divisions that would take some twenty plus years to overcome.
The new millennium brought new and renewed lives and spirits to this destined food entity. Robert W. Chambers, Jr., in October of 2005, formed the consulting firm of Chambers – Walters and Roberts, Inc. which quickly became the holding company for the dba: Robbie’s Super Stuff-Superlicous managed by CW Roberts Inc.
